Why are you on this page?
The truth of it, nobody knows. The long story is a long and complex journey that takes far too long to type out to give it any sort of real meaning. The origins of Cornbread are shrouded in mystery.
Some say when Deathwing wrecked havoc during the cataclysm that Cornbread arose from the deepest crusts of the world.
Some say that Arthas personally oversaw the production of the first cornbread as they manifested themselves within the grains of Stratholme, and it is this very Cornbread that turned him into the Lich King as we know it.
However, the more likely story (and the story I choose to believe, personally), is that it originated when a band of disorderly bandits conversing over Teamspeak, tired of forever transversing through Draenor had a somewhat intimate bonding session, discussing the dankest of memes. Through a delicate conversational evolutionary process, Cornbread was born.
Whichever story is true, well, that is anyone’s guess. For now please enjoy our Cornbread appreciation page.
“The North thinks it know how to make corn bread, but this is a gross superstition. Perhaps no bread in the world is quite as good as Southern corn bread, and perhaps no bread in the world is quite as bad as the Northern imitation of it.”
Directions to make some Moist and Tasty Cornbread
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Lightly grease an 8-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, mix together the cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, mix together the eggs, buttermilk, and butter. Pour the buttermilk mixture into the cornmeal mixture and fold together until there are no dry spots (the batter will still be lumpy). Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish.
- Bake until the top is golden brown and tester inserted into the middle of the corn bread comes out clean, about 20 to 25 minutes. Remove the cornbread from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes before serving.
